Pay applications utilising DTSPAY services can be accessed by standard web browsers,
no kind of extra software installations by end-users are required. The existence of a
mobile or wired telephone, even a rotary one, is enough. The payment transaction is
a simple, single-phase telephone call to the given service number and the anonymity of
the end-user can be maintained.
DTSPAY is a separate server solution running on a dedicated Windows NT or 2000 platform.
The actual applications interact with the server using DTS Middleware.
The server is connected to the operator service number ranges via digital ISDN interfaces.
Various service number ranges of different scale and price may be configured depending on the
product spectre and load level.
Usage of DTS Middleware allows easy interconnection of all common hardware and operating
system architectures. From Windows workstations, UNIX midrange servers to IBM mainframes,
an Internet application can connect to the DTSPAY server with just few lines of programming
code. The payment server itself takes care of all details related to the integrity of the
payment transactions, logging and handling of exceptions.

A set of advaced tools for the operator are provided. The configuration and browse of
transaction history, details of individual payments and cumulative statistics are performed
using a graphical user interface.
In addition to the telephony payment method, DTSPAY also provides support for all on-line
bank payment services of Finnish banks, plus support for Visa and MasterCard credit card
payments via Luottokunta on-line service. Thus the package provides Internet applications a
centralised service for all their needs in delivery of chargeable Internet services and products.
DTSPAY opens new views to the sale of information and products, especially immaterial ones.
In practice all Internet users having a telephone in addition to their Internet connection
are potential customers. The payment transaction itself is simple and straightforward enough to not
to scare off even the most cautious users. The invoicing is left to a party who already
has such agreements with the end-users, the telephone operator.
Public information services, tickets, pictures, music, video,... You name the possible areas of use.
