A new release of the Distributed Transaction System for Digital UNIX is now shipping.
DTS/Digital_UNIX V2.1 is a full-function DTS environment for Digital Alpha hardware
running Digital UNIX operating system version 3.x or 4.x.
DTS/Digital_UNIX V2.1 offers both TCP/IP and DECnet communications,
layered on the operating system IP services and the optional DECnet/OSI communication stack.
Via DTS a Digital UNIX system can access application services on and
exchange messages with other DTS environments like other UNIXes, VMS, CICS, MPE,
OS/400, OS/2, Windows...
The most significant improvements over the previous release 1.0 are
- Dynamic TCP/IP back-end subserver spawn for unlimited parallelism
- Parallel spooling capabilities
- Incoming IP address security check option
- DTSSTAT distributed status query utility
DTS/Digital_UNIX V2.1 uses the DTS License Authorization Key mechanism. It allows more flexible
distribution of evaluation kits and software upgrades. To submit a request for a free evaluation license,
