A new sophisticated tool for the monitoring and troubleshoorting of Distributed Transaction System
networks has been introduced. DTSSTAT is a birectional tool application providing capability
to retrieve and display detailed status information of remote DTS nodes. A DTS system supporting
bidirectional DTSSTAT can both perform queries to remote system and provide its own statistics
to other systems.
DTSSTAT retrieves detailed information about the generic state of a remote DTS environment,
the state of static DTS server processes and values of cumulative transaction counters.
A special node connection table contains status and counter information separately for each
partner node the target DTS system has been interacting with. This enables easy detection
of inactive message routes or erroneous connections.
DTSSTAT uses synchronous DTS transactions for its query operations. The format of the query
and response messages is fully documented, allowing implementation of custom status query
applications and integration to other network management systems.
In the first phase DTSSTAT is available for the following DTS environments:
- DTS/MPE
- DTS/OS400
- DTS/HP-UX
- DTS/AIX
Implementation to new environments is designed to take place while new versions of
DTS are launched.

System product family is available.
