Based on standard WWW browser technology, modular WWW application components,
WAPI
HTML template technique and Distributed Transaction System Middleware messaging, the new user interface
applications provide a completely new working environment for Radiolinja's customer service
personnel. With DTS messaging the communication from WWW servers to intermediate database
systems and the front-end systems of GSM network elements is handled in a powerful and
reliable manner. This same architecture acts as a framework for extranet solutions as well.
Radiolinja has a background of using Tascomm client/server solutions and
intersystem connectivity products for message-oriented GSM network element connectivity
since 1995. The delivery of complete WWW-based user interface applications for
GSM subscriber connection management started in spring 1998.
Oy Radiolinja Ab was founded in 1988 as the first GSM operator in Finland.
The first GSM call in the world was made in Radiolinja´s
network in March 1991, and Radiolinja was the first company in the world to open a
GSM network in July of the same year.
